Broke and Blue bring you some excerpts from their performance at Hermann’s Jazz Club in Victoria. Pianist Kathryn Le Gros, and flutist Diane Berry, are joined by Ryan Tandy on bass and Gregory Law on drums to create a dynamic quartet playing the entertaining music of Claude Bolling, the delightful ‘Klassics to Jazz’ by Uwe Korn and Moe Koffman’s well-loved, Swinging Shepherd Blues.

Broke and Blue began when pianist, Kathryn Le Gros and flutist Diane Berry, met and discovered their mutual love of the music of Claude Bolling. Adding bass and drums with a variety of wonderful performers they have played music by Uwe Korn, Moe Koffman, Dave Brubeck and others. They have performed at a number of jazz vespers in Victoria, at Hermann’s Jazz Club, at Unsworth wineries, the Sooke Fine Arts Show and, most recently as part of the Superior Jazz series. They continue to delight audiences throughout Victoria and Vancouver Island.
